ZE:A's Kim Dongjun is using his fame to spread an important message.
Through an upcoming web drama, the idol singer will lead the charge for an anti-smoking campaign directed at teenagers.
According to a representative from Star Empire Entertainment on Dec. 4, ZE:A's Dongjun will star in the webseries Selection, in which he will play the male protagonist Choi Min Hyuk.
"Currently, the filming has finished, and [the drama] is waiting to air," said the representative, as reported by Allkpop.
"As it is a web drama that had been produced with good intentions, we plan to relay a good message to a lot of people."
Selection is part of a nationwide anti-smoking campaign developed by South Korea's Ministry of Health and Welfare.
In it, Dongjun's character experiences the terrible effects of smoking when his father gets lung cancer and loses a lawsuit against a cigarette company. To expose the company's corruption, Choi Min Hyuk goes to work for them.
Selection hits the web on Dec. 9 and can be streamed on Naver TV Cast.
