Although fans still have some time to wait before the release of the highly anticipated "Persona 5," there are additional news and details thanks to an interview with director Katsura Hashino.
On Wednesday, Game Informer released the full interview with Hashino on their website. While many details will be familiar ones to longtime fans tracking news regarding "Persona 5" coming out of Japan, there are a few noteworthy details.
For one, there's a lot more to the mascot-like character Morgana.
"At first glance, you might assume [he or she is] merely the mascot character of this title, but [he or she is] quite well-informed on the strange 'other world,' more so than the protagonist and his team," said Hashino.
"Morgana takes the role of a prideful instructor, and has a very particular set of standards for the expected aesthetics and conduct of a phantom thief. However, even Morgana has no idea of [his or her] own origins, and quests in search of those answers."
While Hashino would not confirm the gender of Morgana, he does state that the character shares a much closer bond with the protagonist than fans realize in "Persona 5."
"We can't go into any more detail right now, but the relationship between the protagonist and Morgana is much closer than others you've seen in previous titles," he continued.
In addition, much like the previous "Persona" protagonists, the "Persona 5" protagonist will appear "silent and cool," maybe literally. Even if the protagonist will be silent in the game, Hashino says the character has a bit of "brash audacity" to his character.
During the Tokyo Game Show 2015, Hashino announced a delay to "Persona 5" to mid-2016, so stay tuned for more news!
