One Korean pop star is doing what he can to help the elderly victims of Korea's tragic past.
On Monday, South Korean news outlets reported that the Shinhwa member had donated 40 million won ($33,700 USD) to a South Korean center that supports victims of reported sexual slavery at the hands of the Japanese, known as comfort women. This is Dongwan's latest of multiple donations to comfort women.
Since 2013, Shinhwa's Kim Dongwan has donated more than $80,000 to Korean victims of sexual enslavement during World War II.
According to the K-Pop Herald, the Shinhwa member has donated to multiple charities since 2003. The outlet reported the total amount of donations from Kim Dongwan is more than $235,000.
In April, Dongwan donated money to the victims of the earthquake in Nepal.
Along with his activities as a member of Shinhwa, including a performance at this summer's KCON LA, Dongwan released his latest album "D" on Oct. 21 and recently held his first solo concert tour.
