After Chester Bennington left Stone Temple Pilots for good, Linkin Park has their goals set to potentially release a new album by 2016, as a follow up to their 2014 release "The Hunting Party."
Singer Mike Shinoda recently revealed in a Empty Lighthouse Magazine interview how the band is planning to head to the studios anytime soon after they go on the road and give their fans a treat, revealing how he expects the new album from Linkin Park to come out in 2016.
"All of the shows that we've been doing have been really really fun," Shinoda said. "This is our last tour on this cycle and then we'll get back and get focused on the next Linkin Park record. And we're looking a next year sometime."
With the talks of the new album in full force, singer Chester Bennington released his sentiments about leaving Stone Temple Pilots as their front man and working with Linkin Park 100 percent.
The singer talked to Rolling Stone a few months before the singer of STP, Scott Weiland, passed away.
"The last few years have been an amazing experience," Bennington said. "I got to create and perform with one of the greatest rock bands of our generation, that had so much influence on me growing up. With the amount of time STP deserves, in addition to being in Linkin Park, and with the needs of my family, one of them always seems to fall short."
"And in all fairness to my bandmates in Linkin Park, as well as to myself and to my family, I'm going to focus solely on Linkin Park so I can contribute 100 percent. It's been an amazing experience and a dream come true, and I look forward to the future of both STP and Linkin Park."
