"Dream" singer and television host Eric Nam interviewed Star Wars actors John Boyega and Daisy Ridley for Pikicast in Seoul.
Nam enthusiastically asked the stars about a variety of topics, from how they responded to getting the coveted roles to their biggest fears on set.
When asked about how they felt working with director J.J. Abrams, Ridley revealed, "I was incredibly nervous for a lot of it. So to work with someone who is so kind and funny, and he's so great at making everyone on set feel like they're important, is just a very wonderful and positive feeling."
Meanwhile, John explained that he had met the director four years earlier at a post production studio.
"He looked at me and was like, 'I watched your movie Attack the Block, I think you're a great actor. One day I'm gonna get you in something. I don't know what it is but I'm gonna get you in something,'" recalled Boyega. "At that time, everybody in Hollywood was kind of saying that, their version of, 'We'll be in touch.' I didn't believe him until four years later when he called and said, 'There are auditions for Star Wars.'"
The two stars also discussed their active social media presences.
"Everyone thinks that I'm constantly doing spoilers," Ridley joked. "It's amazing, but you have to be so careful with what you write because everyone will read into it."
"But it's wonderful having something like that," she added. "It really makes everyone feel like they're part of our journey."
Since the actors were in Korea for a limited time, Nam offered to help them get the best experience out of the country. Ridley immediately said that she wanted to receive skincare tips while Boyega wanted to try local dishes.
"I want to eat local food," he explained. "Something spicy with loads of meat." Eric was quick to give them the name of some dishes they should try and even taught them a few Korean phrases.
