EXO Fans Accuse SM Entertainment Of Ticket Price Gouging For Chen's Musical Appearance

It has been a huge year for EXO, with the group holding successful concerts, releasing two successful albums, and several individual member promotions on TV. For the most part, EXO fans should certainly be happy with how things turned out.

The fans appear happy with EXO, but not so much their label SM Entertainment.

According to reports, fans are accusing SM Entertainment of suddenly increasing the prices of tickets for the "In the Heights" musical performances that will feature EXO's Chen. Specifically, it was found that tickets for a specific section had rose significantly (about $30) after the announcement of Chen's casting, making it hard to believe the two were not connected.

"SM's done this before too. For last performances on a musical they get rid of all discounts and same with days where a lot of tickets sell as well. Money is best for SM," said one Netizen (via Koreaboo).

Other fans however noticed that the responsibility most likely lies with musical production company for "In the Heights." One fan in particular however believes that both companies are at fault.

"If SM knew about this, then yes, they are just as responsible. It doesn't matter who performed during the musical, the tickets should have stayed the same," said Monique Lynn.

In response to the complaints from fans, the "In the Heights" production cited an error in the ticketing process that caused the prices to rise. The company claimed that regularly priced tickets were being sold at the VIP price accidentally, and said that the regular prices would soon be restored.

Ticket error or not, it appears that pricing for EXO related events is continuing to be a problem for SM Entertainment.
