Danny Boyle Talks About Possibility Of ’28 Months Later’ Release Date, Film May Happen Next Year?

While 2015 and 2016 became the year for remakes and series continuation for movies, director Danny Boyle revealed that a release date for "28 Months Later" could possibly happen by next year.

Director Danny Boyle and producer Alex Garland, who are also working on a possible "Trainspotting 2" follow up revealed in a Movie Pilot interview how they could also work on a "28 Months Later" release date.

"About two years ago, Danny started collaborating on the potential to make 'Trainspotting 2,' another sequel," quickly shifted his idea for a potential release date of "28 Months Later." In that conversation, an idea for '28 Months' arrived. I had a funny idea. I had a sort of weird idea that popped into my head...I had this thought, and I suggested it to Andrew and Danny, but I also said I don't want to work on it. I don't really want to play a role, and Andrew said, 'Leave it to me.' So he's gone off and is working on it."

In the same report, Boyle revealed his thoughts about the possibility of the upcoming movie, where he was interviewed while promoting his "Steve Jobs" film early this year.

"I've got no problem [with 28 Months Later]," Boyle said. "It's the usual thing, ...it's not about whether people think it's a good idea that you're directing. It's whether you respond to the script or not. It's just like on [Steve Jobs]. I got the script and I went, 'That was amazing. I hope I can add to that somehow and it be even better than just the experience of reading it."

Garland also talked about the potential of the movie title and how the story could fast forward from months to years, he said in an interview which was reported by Cinema Blend.

"It's more likely to be 28 Months than 28 Years," he said about the potential release date of "28 Months Later." "28 Years gives you one more place to go. 28 Decades is probably taking the piss."
