This year, South Korea's MBC (Munhwa Broadcast Corporation) held its annual entertainment award show on Tuesday, and several pop stars walked away with recognition of a year well spent.
Four K-pop idols received awards at the 2015 MBC Entertainment Awards. The entertainers were recognized for their activities on Korean variety shows throughout the year.
AOA's ChoA (Park Choa) and Red Velvet's Joy (Park Soo Young) were awarded the New Star Award, while f(x)'s Amber (Amber Liu) and BTOB's Sungjae (Yook Sungjae) received the award for being "Rookies In Variety."
ChoA's role in popularizing the broadcast-web hybrid show "My Little Television" while Joy and Sungjae received awards for their virtual marriage on "We Got Married." Amber's role on the female special of the military reality show "Real Men" garnered the f(x) member her award.
Actor Kwok Si Yang also received the New Star Award for his appearances on "We Got Married.," while Seo Yuri and Sleepy also took home "Rookies in Variety" of the year awards for their respective roles on "My Little Television" and "Real Men."
All four K-pop idols have seen major successes throughout the year, with AOA, Red Velvet, and f(x) all releasing chart topping hits and BTOB's rise in popularity and public awareness.
Kim Gura took home the night's biggest award for his role on numerous Korean variety shows.
