'Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills' Season 6: Eileen Davidson Opens Up About Domestic Abuse

'Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills' Season 6: Tuesday night's episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills featured Eileen Davidson admitting that she was the victim of domestic abuse from an ex-boyfriend many years ago.

Davidson, 56, opened up in a blog post, posted on Wednesday,

"It can happen to anyone," Davidson wrote according to Starpulse. "I know what it means to be in a place where your self-esteem is so low that you believe, maybe even subconsciously, that you deserve to be mistreated. Or maybe you are under a delusion that you can somehow change a troubled partner's behavior with your love."

"It would seem redundant for me, personally, to relive that traumatic time. For what benefit? Maybe I am that person that can compartmentalize, lock it in a box, and throw away the key....I am not judging others who are still haunted by their experiences. I was fortunate to realize once was a mistake, twice was a lesson."

Eileen Davidson says she spent years blaming herself.

"It's a feeling that you can't live without them, even if they hit you. It's 'Oh maybe I did something to make this happen. It's me,' "the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills told Jenny McCarthy on her SiriusXM show Dirty, Sexy, Funny Tuesday.

"I was so afraid of being alone I just had to have a boyfriend. I was very codependent. Extremely codependent. I would break up and then I would find a reason to put it on myself. 'He hit me because of this. I'm so sorry."

"I can't tell you the response I've gotten. So overwhelming the amount of women that have been tweeting me and emailing me and whatever talk about how they've gotten out of abusive relationships or saying that they're still in them and that my being forthright about this is giving them strength Davidson told Flick magazine.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season six airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m.
