A-JAX has a new beginning for 2016.
On Friday, DSP Media issued an official statement announcing changes to the boy band A-JAX. A-JAX will continue on as a five member act following the departure of three members and the addition of vocalist Joong Hee.
Former A-JAX members Sungmin and Jaehyung will focus on music, while Jihoo will focus on acting.
The DSP Media statement described Joong Hee as an "incredible singer" who shows "immense potential."
DSP Media revealed that Jihoo and Sungmin are still remaining under the company, whereas Jaehyung will pursue his musical career under another agency.
In January, it was revealed that Sungmin decided to leave the group.
Along with the lineup changes, the DSP Media group will change its target audience to begin focusing more on China. A-JAX recently contracted with Chinese agency Star Power Culture Development Limited Company for Chinese activities.
A-JAX is the second group under DSP Media to undergo changes since the year began.
In January, the iconic K-pop girl group KARA disbanded after nearly a decade together. Only youngest member Heo Youngji remains under DSP Media.
A-JAX debuted under DSP Media in 2012 as a seven member act, with the song "One 4 You." They last released the song "Snake" in 2013.
