Hani of girl group EXID will take a short break from making television appearances.
In a statement made on Feb. 27, EXID's agency, Yedang Entertainment, clarified the reasons why the sudden hiatus.
"Ever since 'Up Down' went viral at the end of 2014, Hani's schedule has been completely full giving her no time to rest," the agency said in a statement. "In order to make sure she is healthy, we have decided to give her a short break."
For over a year, Hani has been active through her group EXID and on various variety programs. Due to the accumulated fatigue from never being given a chance to rest, she has developed gastroenteritis, which is an inflammation of the stomach and small intestine that usually lasts less than two weeks.
Due her doctor's orders, the EXID member will be unable to appear and take part of the judging process the Feb. 27 broadcast of SBS cooking program Baek Jong-won's Top 3 Chefs.
Yedang Entertainment also commented on the issue.
"Hani is extremely enthusiastic and passionate about being on the program, but she will take a short break and recover as quickly as possible."
