Breaking Down K-Beauty: Mediheal's Mask Sheets, miss A's Fei's Favorites

It's not so unusual to see a K-pop star getting moisturized and reinvigorated behind a mask sheet, and it seems as though miss A's Fei believes she's got the best option for you.

A recent Instagram from the idol shows her hawking mask sheets from Mediheal, which happen to be one of the most beloved brands on the market. Don't be surprised if you haven't heard of them yet - they don't come from a globally recognized brand (they're made by L&P Cosmetics, which, although well regarded, stays out of the spotlight and doesn't have brick and mortar stores), and they're not quite as readily available outside of Korea as other products are.

But Mediheal has a loyal and growing following, especially in China, which is part of the reason Fei was chosen as one of the company's models and spokespeople. Mediheal masks are praised for several reasons, but one comes up over and over again: these sheets are chock full of essence. A lot of sheet masks reach their limit after about 20 minutes on the skin. By that point, the face has soaked up most of their moisture and they start to feel a little dry or even starchy. Not Mediheal. Many reviewers have reported they can keep these on for upwards of 45 minutes, with their skin still absorbing all those nutrients.

Another big selling point? If you buy from the right spot, Mediheal masks pack in a lot of premium ingredients at a not-so-premium price point. If you can't make it to Korea to stock up yourself, Korea Depart generally has low prices and good sales on Mediheal masks; Amazon and Memebox are two more places to check.

Like most beauty products, these sheet masks aren't a one size fits all. Mediheal offers several different formulas. Some, like the PDF A.C-Defense Hydro Nude Gel Mask are better for oily skin because it's meant to control sebum and cool faces plagued by heat or oils. Others, like the White Hydrating Charcoal Mineral Mask - one of the ones that Fei loves, according to her Instagram - are better for dry and dull skin that need tons of moisture and brightening. Do a little research and figure out which one is best for you.

That being said, there are a few crowd favorites. Beauty bloggers and editors consistently adore the H.D.P Pore Stamping Charcoal Mineral Mask, which is a great product to put on before you want that flawless, pores-be-gone look before a big night out. The Collagen Impact Essential is another favorite; it's a miracle worker for all skin types that need a little pick me up after feeling dull, irritated, or saggy after a stressful week.

The bottom line? These are super soaked masks that feel a little more indulgent than most of the others out there, and can go a long way in making skin look a little more flawless and full of life. Fei really knows what she's talking about.
