It looks like fans have seen the end of the "Uncharted" franchise as Naughty Dog's creative director Neil Druckmann said this would be the last installment of the series.
There is no denying that "Uncharted" is one of the most popular game franchises exclusively for PS4. However, Druckman is not a fan of dragging story just to make profit out of it.
"Look, if it was up to me, we would show nothing," Druckmann said in an interview with Eurogamer. "With the end of this story it will be really hard to do a sequel with Nathan Drake."
"We've been with this character for so long," added Druckmann. "He's at the height of his popularity, so it's not a good business decision, but I feel like the best way to honour him is to go out on top, to finish his story."
However, he admitted that at the end of the day, Sony owns the rights to the franchise and should they decide to make another installment of "Uncharted," he has no choice but to make one. However, with the way "Uncharted 4" ends, Druckmann said that the only possibility is either a prequel or start over with a new character.
"Whether that's it for 'Uncharted?' I don't know. At the end of the day Sony owns Uncharted and they can do whatever they want. But with the end of this story it will be really hard to do a sequel with Nathan Drake. Maybe there'll be a prequel, maybe it will be a different character - I don't know. But this is the end for Nathan Drake," he said.
