''Jessica Jones'' the American web television series was first aired on Nov. 20, 2015 on Netflix and all the episodes were released on the same day. The season 1 contained 13 episodes and in Jan. 2016, Netflix renewed this TV series for a season 2.

As per the latest report on Variety, this action based Psychological thriller TV series came back on popular demand. "All the conversations I wanted to be happening around it are happening," the executive producer and showrunner Melissa Rosenberg told Variety about the renewal. "There are just these wildly articulate insightful pieces being done about a feminist perspective, a political perspective, at a time where these subjects are getting some attention about women in Hollywood and women in the world, and how we're portrayed in the media. It's my life goal to contribute something to the world that hopefully moves it in a positive direction'' she clarified further.

A few months back cinemablend reported that the season 2 of ''Jessica Jones'' was pushed further and it broke the heart of the fans, however looking at the viewership of this TV series, the producers Marvel Television decided to give a green signal to the season 2.

When the season 1 had premiered, deadline had talked in details about the character of Jessica Jones (played by Krysten Ritter). Jessica Jones is shown suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder in this TV series and she has some superhero abilities. She runs her own detective agency. David Tennant plays the role of Kilgrave, who is the negative character and Jessica Jones' tormentor.

Since this series is based on the characters of Marvel Comics, Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) owns the rights to this show. Independent confirmed that Krysten Ritter will reprise the role of the protagonist Jessica Jones.

Screencrush gave a good news that the season 2 might get new writers. ''We've had such an incredible response to our first season, on which I've been so fortunate to have an extraordinary team all the way down the line from the fellow writers, executive producers, cast and crew'' confirmed Rosenberg. ''I'm thrilled to have someone as talented as Raelle join our team as writer and executive producer as we delve into Jessica's continued story'' she added further.

So the season 2 is inching towards creating a plot and Kpopstarz will keep the readers updated about the release date and other developments during the making of the season 2.
