Nintendo NX Release Date; 2016 Release Date Confirmed? Get The Latest Hardware Details And Pricing Here!

Nintendo has its fair share of victories through its revolutionary Wii and slew of handheld consoles. However, their Wii U and latest handheld devices have not gained the traction the company has expected. But the popular gaming company is poised to get back on track with its upcoming console with the code name "Nintendo NX."

One of the most intriguing feature of the upcoming console is its specs. CNET reported of a Reddit user who has connections with the console developers and revealed that the upcoming console would feature, "x86 architecture, Nintendo server data backup, support for a second screen, compatibility with ports of current generation games, smart device app interactivity and some kind of involvement with the My Nintendo reward program."

It's an impressive list of hardware specs but these are nothing if it could compete with pricing. Nintendo is known to have some impressive bargains when it comes to pricing their console. Tech Radar also expects the console to be competitively priced, "For the NX to succeed at launch, it needs to be the cheapest video game hardware on the market, and by a large margin. Whether it's due to creating the next control innovation or breaking tradition by selling hardware at a loss, you can rest assured Nintendo won't bungle launch pricing for a third consecutive console."

A good price and impressive specs sounds good for everyone but how about the release date? It turns out that the game could drop before the year ends. According to Pocket-Lint, "In terms of release date, there are two schools of thought. Originally it was thought to be coming in 2017, but more recently suggestions are that the console could be rush released to balance the books, with Nintendo aiming to capitalize on the Christmas market this year." A 2016 release will definitely up the ante in the gaming industry as more consoles means better gaming options for everyone.
