SM Entertainment's SM TOWN released the music video collaboration by Super Junior's Heechul and rock artist Min Kyung Hoon last November 19 on their official YouTube channel.
The music video for "Sweet Dream" was highly anticipated especially after netizens learned that TWICE's Momo starred in the MV. Momo played as a ballerina who'll be torn between best buddies Heechul and Kyung Hoon. The MV's plot revolves around Heechul liking a girl played by Momo and apparently Momo like his bestfriend Kyung Hoon.
Aside from the usual love triangle, the duo made it extraordinary through adding some elements in the MV. They even had action scenes where the two guys tried to save Momo when a bunch of gangsters went to get her. According to Officially K-Music, some renowned comedians like Kang Ho Dong, Lee Sang Min, and Lee Soo Geun even starred in the music video which gave the MV a softer and funnier emotion despite the heavy message of the song itself.
After the MV's release, the song received a lot of good feedbacks. Alongside these positive comments came outstanding ranks on music charts. As reported by All Kpop, Heechul and Kyung Hoon's single ranked number 1 on not just one but six music charts the following day. This included Genie, Naver, Mnet, Olleh, Soribada, and Monkey3. Music charts Melon and Bugs had the song on their number 2.
Prior to the release of the MV, Heechul and Kyung Hoon had some troubles in finding the right girl for their MV. In one of the episodes of JTBC's "Ask Us Anything", Heechul and Kyung Hoon are seen asking friends from girl groups if they can be the lead for their MV. Heechul is known for his close ties with girl groups and Kyung Hoon is just amazed as he observe Heechul calling them. Some of the famous idols they've tried to contact are AOA's Seolhyun and Girls' Generation's Taeyeon. Taeyeon even suggested for the two guys to cross dress if ever they ended up having no female lead for their MV.
