Despite their busy schedules, K-pop idols/groups still had the time to prank their fans and followers on April Fools. Some fans were fooled, and some weren't and even tagged along.
In a list compiled by Koreaboo, these are the K-pop idols that pranked their fans on April 1. First was Gugudan, changing their official Twitter page into a "math club".
Since "Gugudan" in Korean is also known as the multiplication table, the K-pop group changed their profile banner on Twitter with an image of a chalkboard containing the multiplication table. They also changed their display picture with a photo of a pencil with the writing's "Let's memorize the multiplication table" and "Match Club".
Next was WINNER's Lee Seung Hoon who uploaded 15 images of the Pokemon "Ditto" on Instagram, since his user name was always "maetamong", the Korean version of "Ditto". The K-pop idol also changed his display picture on Instagram into Ditto making the fans laugh their brains out.
Next was MAMAMOO who changed their profile into a "beggar". The K-pop group's profile also stated that they are 59 years old and have been training for 29 years. Also, according to the profile, their favorite quote was "Any spare change?" just like what a beggar would say on a street.
VROMANCE, on the other hand, was creative as they changed their official Twitter page into "VROCCOLI" vending company. To complement the name change, the K-pop group also changed their profile header into "Broccoli men" with their faces photoshopped into the vegetables.
Next up is BTS who completely changed their official Twitter account. First, they changed their display picture and banner into the images of Jin and Jimin wearing matching sweaters and shades. The K-pop group's profile information also read" You don't know who is who right?"
BTS' next change was after 4 hours, changing their display picture with V's image listening to music. The group then uploaded the same picture of V with the caption "I'm tipsy".
Finally, the ultimate prank was done by TWICE, stating their fake "comeback" on their official Twitter page. The K-pop group tweeted "TWICE IS BACK" and even gave a link to a teaser video clip on YouTube. However, when fans clicked the link, they were sent to the 2015 teaser of their debut song "Like Ooh-Ahh".
JYJ's Jaejoong also pranked his fans during his concert in Kaoshiung, Taiwan on April 1. According to Soompi, the K-pop idol suddenly collapsed.
Jaejoong was on the floor for a while and the security team rushed to his rescue. The fans almost believed the K-pop idol's prank but before they did, the music started playing again and Jaejoong rose up and revealed it was all a prank.
