Back in August of this year, fans of iKON had decided to boycott the group and are against purchasing any of their official merchandise until YG Entertainment treats them better. Now, member Bobby and YG Entertainment has come forward with their thoughts on the matter and possibility of a comeback.
YG himself had responded to the sudden boycotting by saying, "We're continuously preparing their new album as well as solo albums. This boycott happened because of a misunderstanding with the fans." However, during an interview with Maeil Kyungjae, Bobby elaborated more deeply on the matter.
"I believe boycotting symbolizes the thirst for us. We're not able to come out (and promote) because we lack. So we took this as getting scolded and currently working harder. iKON is working hard day and night to show a good side of us. If you wait a little longer, we'll be back better and cooler. I want to ask them to wait for us a little longer."
While member Bobby was able to release his solo album 'Love and Fall' today, unfortunately, the boycott didn't have much effect on the group aside from creating a bit of commotion. Bobby revealed that iKON still has no predetermined plans of making a comeback any faster due to the boycott. "In my mind, I want to come back right away - even tomorrow." Sadly, Bobby ended on a wishful note simply stating, "I just hope we can come back before the year ends."
