All five members of South Korean boy band NU'EST will be making their much-anticipated full-group comeback this April 29.
On April 14, the group dropped a video teaser bearing the title of their soon-to-be-released track, "Happily Ever After," via their official YouTube channel. The dark-themed "prologue" brings an air of mystery as it only features snippets of a broken mirror, a drop of water, and a member's arm with his sleeve changing its color from white to black.
News of their comeback was first announced back in February when a representative from their agency Pledis Entertainment revealed that the quintet's newest project was in the works.
While Minhyun was part of the now-disbanded Wanna One, the four remaining members of NU'EST -- namely JR, Aron, Ren, and Baekho -- continued to promote as NU'EST W.
Their last offering as a five-member musical act was their fifth mini album titled "Canvas." Released in August 2016, the effort spawned the single, "Love Paint (Every Afternoon)."
Prior to their long-awaited comeback, NU'EST staged their first-ever headlining Korean concert from April 12 to 14. The show called "Segno" was a reunion of sorts as it witnessed all five members performing altogether for the first time in more than two years.
Baekho noted that "Segno" comes from the music jargon, "dal segno" which means "from the sign." According to him, the three-night concert signals the group's "going back and starting from the beginning."
Thousands upon thousands of their fans -- collectively called as L.O.Λ.Es -- flocked to the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul, South Korea to witness the iconic, sold-out concert.
NU'EST debuted in March 2012.The R&B-dance-pop troupe first charmed K-pop aficionados with their single, "Face." In July of the same year, they unveiled their first-ever EP, "Action."
Their accolades include 2012's "Super Rookie Idol" award from Arirang's Simply K-pop Awards and 2015's "Best Potential Group" from Migu Music Awards.
Apart from NU'EST W, the group also had another side project called NU'EST M. Composed of the said five lads, together with Chinese member Jason, the act was formed in 2013 to specifically target the Chinese market. The sub-group dissolved in 2014 after Pledis Entertainment's contract with Jason's agency, Yuehua Entertainment, had ended.
Besides NU'EST's musical endeavors, they have also appeared in various reality shows. These include MTV Diary (2013), NU'EST in Love (2013), NU'ESS's Latin Dream Show (2014), and NU'EST Private Life (2016).
