Korean boy band Monsta X is kicking off a new epic era in their career!
In an attempt to intensify their goal to go global, the group has recently inked a contract with Epic Records. According to their agency Starship Entertainment, the LA-based company will help handle the seven-piece act's English-language recordings and worldwide distribution (except in Korea).
In a statement released via Billboard, Monsta X expressed their excitement to join the roster of acts signed under the Sony Music Entertainment-owned label.
“We are thrilled to join the Epic Family alongside some of the artists we admire the most. This is like a dream come true and we still can't believe that this is happening to us," he septet remarked.
Founded in 1953, the record label is currently home to a wide array of musical acts, including Mariah Carey, DJ Khaled, 21 Savage, Camila Cabello, Meghan Trainor, and Sara Bareilles among others.
For Epic Records Chairman and CEO Sylvia Rhone, signing Monsta X is an honor for their company.
“K-pop has indelibly impacted the global conversation and influenced culture everywhere. At the top of that conversation, you'll find Monsta X. They're ushering the genre into the future with an original style befitting of their experience, passion, and diverse influences. We're honored to welcome them to the Epic Records family," she said.
The news coincides with the ongoing "We Are Here" world tour in promotion of their latest effort, "Take 2. We Are Here" - which includes their chart-topping single "Alligator" and Steve Aoki collab "Play It Cool."
The tour, which kicked off in South Korea last April, will bring the group to 18 different cities, including Bangkok, Sydney, Melbourne, Madrid, Paris, London, and São Paulo among others.
They will also perform for their US-based fans during the show's legs in Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
Come September, Monsta X is also scheduled to grace the 201 edition of the well-attended iHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas.
With all these career high's they have been hitting, the K-pop stars remain unwavering in showing gratitude to their fans.
“We can't thank our [fandom] Monbebe enough for their endless support and for making everything possible," the group shared in a statement.
