Stills from the forthcoming JTBC political drama "Advisor" that will be headlined by Shin Min-ah recently surfaced on the web, swooning and augmenting our excitement. The 35-year-old actress is set to capture the viewers with a brand new character as a newly-elected assemblywoman, following her role in the 2017 fantasy-drama "Tomorrow With You."
In this new TV series, Min-ah will sport a sleek bob cut while photos also revealed her often dressed in formal coats, fitting in the character she is about to play. A source from the upcoming series revealed why Min-ah is perfect for the role.
"Shin Min Ah's character Kang Sun Young is a figure that is always supported by the public. She never retreats from fear and isn't swayed by the opinions of others," the source stated.
The source added that her character as a new assemblywoman becomes a member of the Assembly through proportional representation, putting her in a further complicated situation, specifically in the event of reelection. Due to this, she ventures deeper into the world of politics.
"You can look forward to a character with perseverance and scale of thought the likes of which you've never seen before," the source said with a hint of promise.
Min-ah will work alongside actor Lee Jung Jae who will give life to the character of Jang Tae Joon. Kim Kap Soo is also included in the cast, and whose character is an assemblyman.
In the teaser, Jang Tae Joon is seen walking along a park with a cup of coffee in his hand, while a conversation of his character and Kim Kap Soo's played in the background, revealing a more serious flavor to the show. Kim Kap Soo's character can be heard saying, "We have to go to the Blue House together."
Jang Tae Joon's then responds to him with, "Do you know how hard it was to get here? From a regular staff member to a secretary to an advisor? I've held on for 10 years, picking up after old men."
The teaser also hinted that Jang Tae Joon's role faces hardship as he shields the assemblyman from antis who hurled water and ripped his clothes. After the commotion, he is seen drinking water and beaming while uttering the words, "In order to catch a whale, you have to go through some broken fishing poles and hand injuries," as well as, "It's normal for politicians to grow with a few
