K-pop act TWICE is dominating the music scene in Japan with the release of their back-to-back Japanese singles, "Happy Happy" and "Breakthrough" on June 11.
The songs topped the LINE Japan Music Chart, taking the numbers 1 and 2 spots respectively. The nine-piece also made it to the Twitter Worldwide trends list, with fans giving out heaps of praise and adoration for the girl group's tracks.
And their fandom -- called ONCE -- did not have to wait long for them to binge-watch the singles' official music videos. The visuals were released on the same day via the group's Japanse YouTube channel.
In "Happy Happy," which is their fourth Japanese single to date, the nonet once again showcased their charming styles and irresistible vocals as they sing along to an upbeat dance track reminiscent of their signature, earlier releases.
The song's music video is peppered with bright, summery hues perfect to raise your mood and, well, make you happy. As of writing, it has already garnered nearly 2 million views.
On the other hand, TWICE offers a sultrier vibe in their music video for "Breakthrough," which now has nearly 2.5 million views.
Evoking similar feelings like what they did in their latest Korean single "Fancy," the lasses of TWICE are dressed in black ensembles (alternately with white in other sequences), dancing in neon-hued settings.
TWICE unveiled the Japanese singles following their sold-out show in Japan.
The JYP Entertainment act is currently on a world tour promoting their 7th mini album, "Fancy You." After successfully opening their "TWICELIGHTS" tour in Seoul last May 25 and 26, they are slated to bring their biggest hits to Bangkok (June 15), Manila (June 29), Singapore (July 13), Los Angeles (July 17), Mexico City (July 19), New Jersey (July 21), Chicago (July 23), and Malaysia (August 2017).
The group, who had only debuted in 2015, has swiftly risen to become one of the best-selling K-pop acts of their generation. Composed of Momo, Tzuyu, Sana, Jihyo, Nayeon, Mina, Dahyun, Jeongyeon, and Chaeyoung, they gave K-pop aficionados several bops including "TT," "Cheer Up" "Likey," "What Is Love?," "Yes or Yes," and "Dance The Night Away."
