S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino — the boys of K-pop powerhouse SEVENTEEN are back with a new infectious track!
On August 5, the 13-member boy group dropped their latest song called “Hit.” The EDM/dance-pop single was composed by Woozi and sought-after singer-melody maker Bumzu, with lyrics penned by the two together with Vernon.
Complete with explosive beats and engaging melodies, “Hit” is an immediately-recognizable anthem for people who want to rise above the challenges and things that hold them back. The song is aptly accompanied by a music video that showcases anew the group’s dynamic and intense dance sequences.
For the group, actively taking part in creating their own songs is an important part of their musicality.
In an interview with American media outlet Refinery29, Woozi noted its importance saying that “[their] music has to be sincere and reveal [their] genuine nature.”
“Every album of ours holds the messages and stories that we want to tell the most. And I think that is why Carats (SEVENTEEN’a fans) like our music,” he added.
Sharing the same point of view, Vernon further shared that this songwriting and composing process serve as a fun learning experience for them.
“We enjoy the process a lot,” he stressed out.
Their latest offering comes seven months after their last release, and less than a month ahead of their “Ode To You” World Tour.
SEVENTEEN’s sophomore world tour will kick off with a back-to-back-to-back show at the Olympic Park in Seoul from August 30 until September 1.
As of writing, the confirmed schedules for their anticipated tour are their Japanese shows, which will take the versatile members to four key cities in the country — Osaka (October 8-9), Aichi (October 12-14), Yokohama (October 30-31), and Chiba (November 7-9).
Earlier this April, the K-pop act embarked on their third Japanese tour, performing in five cities for nearly a whole month.
Formed by Pledis Entertainment, SEVENTEEN debuted in 2015 and has since made a name for themselves with their palpable musical skills and undeniable charisma. The group is also divided into three sub-units that highlight their forte — dancing and performing, singing and belting out, and bringing out swag through hip-hop music.
