New K-Pop girl group Rocket Punch has now debuted!
The track "Bim Bam Bum" is produced by Iggy Youngbae, a duo that is known for creating many songs of GFRIEND. It expresses about desires of wishing that your song will be heard by the world.
Moreover, based on the release of Woollim Entertainment, the group's name "Rocket Punch" alludes to how the girls would be giving a freshening "punch" into people's dull life.
Rocket Punch member Juri was cast as one of the AKB48 12-generation trainees in 2011. In March 2014, she was revealed to the public by means of AKB48 Team 4. In 2018, she joined the reality competition program, "Produce 48." Sohee and Suyun were also part of the said show, representing Woollim Entertainment. Since then, the three of them are known for their strong visuals and outstanding performances. This year, 2019, Juri signed a contract with Woollim to chase her dream of having a career in Korea.
Furthermore, on July 22, the company unveiled a motion clip of Rocket Punch's logo, then the day after that the agency released a concept film that shows the six members. Rocket Punch is Woollim Entertainment's first girl group to debut in five years since Lovelyz in 2014.
Following the release of their album, the new girl group had a showcase at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul. Rocket Punch's leader, Yeonhee, said, "My heart is pounding so fast right now. Half of me is filled with joy to stand on stage; half of me is trembling because I'm nervous." Dahyun, who is the youngest in the group, said, "I am nervous as of this moment, but the older members told me that I should not be anxious and do it like what we practiced."
Then, Juri said, "I'm glad to be able to stand here with the other five members after making preparations for a long time." She added, "I have always been interested in Woollim as an agency, so I gave them my trust."
Rocket Punch also shared that their seniors, Lovelyz, gave them words of encouragement and told them that they are doing very well. Yunkyong said, "We are very thankful for their support."
