Hong Jin Young Reportedly to Start Her Own Independent Label

Hong Jin Young had set up her corporation a few years ago to operate her online shopping mall. Reports say that she recently visited the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and registered her agency as a pop culture planning company.


People who plan on building an entertainment business in Korea must report their firm to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in compliance with Article 26 of the Pop Culture Industry Development Act.



Hong Jin Young is a South Korean trot singer who started her music career in 2007 as a member of a girl group named"SWAN" under ForAsia Entertainment. The group debuted that same year with their digital single album "Booming SWAN" with its title song called "Call Me When You Hear This Song" featuring Coolapika. The group then disbanded months after.



In 2009, she launched her first digital single "Love Battery" under MBK Entertainment. Jin Young is famous for her multiple appearances on many music varieties shows including Immortal Songs 2 and King of Mask Singer.



In 2014, Hong left MBK and joined Music K Entertainment. She launched her first extended play called "Life Note" with the title song "Cheer Up." In 2017, she began to work on producing trot songs. She collaborated with Kim Young Chul to release an electron (EDM and trot) track titled "Ring Ring," for which they earned the "Best Trot" award at the 2-17 MelOn Music Awards.



In 2018, Jin Young launched a retro trot-style digital track "Good-Bye." The same year, her second electrot song was revealed, called "I Kicked My Lucky Off," which she wrote and composed on her own. Then, she unveiled another trot single about people and experiences in Seoul named "Seoul" featuring rapper Bray, which she co-produced.



Hong's latest release is her first studio album "Lots of Love" this past March.



In different news, the singer has filed a lawsuit to conclude her contract with Music K. According to her, the company forced her to work regardless of her surgery she got from an abdominal infection, plus the label made deals under her name which she didn't know. But the label denied her accusations. Until now, the lawsuit is still ongoing.
