BTS' Kim Nam-Joon, commonly known as RM which formerly stood for Rap Monster, is the leader and the main rapper in South Korea's insanely famous boy group called BTS, struck the hearts of many with his acceptance speech as proven at Variety's Hitmakers Brunch.
On December 7, 2019, BTS gave honor at Variety's Hitmakers Brunch at the Soho House in West Hollywood to humbly receive their "Group of the year" award. As BTS' leader, it is RM's fate to give out an acceptance speech on behalf of the group which RM presented humbly and gracefully.
According to BTS' interview at the Ellen Degeneres show in 2017, RM stated that as a child, he learned English through watching the 1994-2003 sitcom, Friends, with his mother. Besides that, he wrote a lot of poetry and won several literary competitions and received awards for his writing.
The artist depicts wholesomeness and authenticity in every thought that he presents at his speech. His flawless English makes him eloquent in sharing the honor with Variety, Big Hit Entertainment, fellow musicians, and of course, BTS' fan base that is ultimately huge all over the world, the ARMYs.
