CLC member Sorn has officially apologized regarding the racist caricature mask incident. The issue started after Sorn posted a group photo on Instagram wherein one of her friends was wearing a racist mask. However, what made it worse was her reply to one of the comments.
As people corrected her and pointed out that what she did was racism, the singer with "Sometimes people need to chill, I'm not stupid." A netizen was quick to comment that Sorn's response is nothing more than a defensive rebuttal.
Apart from that, the man wearing the mask remained unnamed, but one commenter said, "I'm familiar with the guys in the background. They're good friends with GOT7, so it's not really a shock. This guy has also gone away with many issues because he has great connections."
However, on December 20, Sorn apologized for posting a photo with a racist caricature mask. She posted on Instagram:
"Hey everyone, in light of recent events, I sincerely apologize for my actions. Specifically, I am sorry for being culturally insensitive and in no way was I trying to intentionally offend anyone. In hindsight, I am realizing how this photo could have offended others. I am genuinely sorry and will reflect upon my mistakes. I am not asking for anyone's forgiveness but I am writing this message to say that I know how much people are hurt by the picture I posted last night. I understand people are allowed to feel and I am in no way expecting the people I offended to forgive me. Sorry guys and I'll make sure it doesn't happen again in the future. Sorry for disappointing you, Cheshire."
Meanwhile, the photos have since been deleted.
