A former 2NE1 member has surprised the viewers of MBC's "King of Mask Singer" as she participates in the show. Amazingly, the singer is Park Bom.
In "King of the Mask Singer," which aired on the afternoon of January 5, it was teased to the public with the title of "Welcome, Is this your first time in 2020? The stage for '2020 Coming Now' was opened." On this week's show, she battled with Naeun of April with the song "Tears" which made Park Bom move onto the next round, "Bruce Lee" also advanced to the second round after singing "Severely" by F.T. Island. For the final round, "Bruce Lee" and "2020 Coming Now" went for the battle. And from then, Park Bom used the song from the late Seo Jiwon with the song "Another Start."
"2020 Coming Soon" was eliminated in the third round and took off its mask, and its identity was Park Bom, who was the main vocalist of 2NE1. Park Bom said, "Yes, hello. I'm Park Bom, who became a soloist from 2NE1." She also thought that people would recognize her voice right away, Park Bom replied, "I was thrilled that you knew even though I sang it a little differently."
Park Bom said "King of the Mask Singer" came to appear every Sunday as it was a program his father enjoyed even shedding tears. "My father asked me when I will join this program, and it seems like my father likes this program a lot." When MC Kim Sungjoo proposed a video letter to his father, Park Bom briefly smiled, saying, "Daddy, I'm in King of the Masked Singers!"
Park Bom, who debuted in 2009 as a member of the four-member female idol 2NE1, last left the team in January 2017 with 2NE1's single "Hello" and released the single "Spring" in March last year. She later released her mini-album "re Blue Rose" and her single album "First Snow," and also released related songs by appearing in "An Immortal Songs" and "Queendom."
When asked how she felt about resuming her solo career for the first time in eight years, Park Bom replied, "It was also tough, but I think this is a good result." When she mentioned that she spent so much time alone at home, Park Bom said, "I have a lot to think about and reflect on myself."
Park Bom said he was a fan of Seo Jiwon, the original singer of "Another Start," adding, "When I became a singer, I wanted to include the song in my album."
