Big Hit Entertainment To Take Over Pledis Entertainment

Last week, it was officially revealed by a Big Hit official that the entertainment company is in talks for acquiring Pledis Entertainment, saying, "a variety of opportunities are open."

Earlier today, it was confirmed by a news media outlet in Naver, Sports DongA that Big Hit has officially taken over Pledis, as well as the process for the transfer of stake, has also been completed. However, Big Hit has allegedly denied it by responding, "Nothing has yet been decided."

Pledis Entertainment is the home and company of the popular groups, SEVENTEEN and NU'EST, which is also one of the most loved groups of this era of Hallyu Wave. The company was formed and created last 2010 by SM Entertainment BoA's former manager, Han Sung Soo, which also one of the people behind the success of Son Dambi, and After School.

Meanwhile, Big Hit also has been the merger for Source Music last 2019, and the same with this Entertainment, Pledis will still have their independence, and Big Hit will only be their mother Entertainment.

Big Hit is known for its successful groups, BTS, who is currently dominating the domestic and international market and music industry, along with their brother group TXT.

On the other hand, according to the insider, Pledis will be moving to Big Hit's new building, and assure everyone that together with their artists, the aspects of training, online content and spreading a global network will be both label's priority, for the vast future of their artists. The acquired company is expected to move to the Yongsan office building in Central Seoul, wherein the Pledis office staff will be residing. Big Hit is also scheduled to relocate there this upcoming May.

Furthermore, according to an entertainment insider, the two companies will be going to announce the news in public soon.

"We are expecting that due to this, the two companies will be able to make a powerful impact on the upcoming years as we joined our hands. There will be more opportunities as they foster more artists, making more valuable content, and establishing a more solid global influence."

Due to this, fans and netizens of the different fandoms were excited to see the interaction of this growing family, including, NU'EST, SEVENTEEN, BTS, TXT, and GFRIEND(Girl Friend) which is under Source Music.

Moreover, this is just the start of Big Hit Entertainment Expansion, in the future fans and netzines should also anticipate their future plans, which includes the creation of label for drama and film production, as well as in Korean manga called Webtoons, Publishing and corporate briefing.
