Everglow, who made his debut in March last year and garnered significant attention from global K-pop fans as well as Korea, made a comeback with their first mini-album "reminiscence," which first revealed the story and the narrative to the surface on Thursday. And, their comeback title has reached the ten million-view mark with its new music video.
The music video for "Dun Dun," the title track of Everglow, consisting of E:U, Sihyeon, Mia, Onda, Aisha, and Yiren, uploaded on their official YouTube channel at 6 pm on Tuesday. And this music video has already surpassed 10 million views in the first 16 hours of release.
Less than a day after the release of the music video, it is also rare for top-notch Korean artists to reach the ten million-view mark. This mark gives a sense of the prowess of Everglow, a global super-rookie girl group that is beloved by K-pop fans around the world.
"Dun Dun" is a song that has a strong melody that feels like a desert breeze, a powerful beat, a powerful brass, and a delicate vocal line. Seo Jieum, who wrote lyrics for numerous hit songs such as EXO's "Growl" and Red Velvet's "Dumb Dumb," alongside Olof Lindskog, Gavin Jones, and Hayley Atken worked with the group, sparking expectations of music fans even before the release.
The music video drew attention with Everglow's trademark brilliant and charismatic concept and powerful performances. The six members' unique and unrivaled military moves make the viewers watch closely. Everglow confidently said that they made a lot of effort to prepare for the album, even though the group has shown nervousness over their comeback after a long time.
The leader's reason is, "In fact, we practiced our choreography a lot while preparing for this album." E:U said, "I think we can show that much. I practiced more than 10 hours a day, and the night was up. I think we will have a great performance as we prepared it."
Everglow's first mini-album "reminiscence" is an album that captures not only the group's unique, strong performance but also its infinite potential through musical growth. The collection has four tracks: the first track, which is called "SALUTE," represents a generation of women who fight against the world with their own eyes. The third track is named "Player," which tells the story of women who are fighting an invisible battle with someone reliable, and "No Lie," as the fourth track, which is a stepping stone of Everglow's growth story.
Soon after the release, the company, Yuehua Entertainment, is drawing keen attention by dominating the world's top global news rankings by ranking "Twitter's Real-Time Trends" and "Worldwide Trends" and recording the top-level search word on major Asian portal sites.
"Reminiscence" is the first album to reveal Everglow's classic music styles, since their debut. "We captured not only the strong performance, the signature of the group, but also the infinite possibilities of Everglow through musical growth," said Yuehua Entertainment.
Meanwhile, Yuehua Entertainment has decided to cancel the planned fan showcase for Everglow later in the day due to growing concerns over the spread of the new novel coronavirus. The album-related showcase stage will be uploaded to V-Live and YouTube channels then.
