On the 10th of February, the SJ label confirmed that Super Junior Donghae would be debuting as a solo artist this first half of the year!
"Super Junior Donghae will release their first solo single. It will be released as a single digital album at the end of February."
According to Star News, Donghae, who debuted 16 years ago, will be finally releasing his first solo single, in collaboration with Korean artist BeWhy.
Following this announcement, an image teaser was released by SJ label official social media accounts, providing the details of the male idol's first solo song. His name appeared together BeWhy, as well as the word, "HARMONY," which is the pending title of their collaboration track. The release date has not been announced yet though, according to an insider, it will be released this first quarter of the year, latter February.
Donghae has participated in several Korean drama OST as well as singing collaboration; however, this is the first time that he will be going to drop a song under his name. Furthermore, it was also reported that the male idol participated in the songwriting and composition of the song, working together with BeWhy.
In addition to the image teaser, it was also announced that Donghae would be providing his fans a song that will feature his powerful and emotional vocals, focused on its "ballad' genre.
Meanwhile, Donghae has been an active member of Super Junior's sub-unit D & E along with Eunhyuk, as well as to their Chinese unit Super Junior M wherein he was given the role of everything; Including vocals, rapper, and dancer. Throughout his career, he has been able to get his nicknames as "East Sea" and "Prince of Tears."
Fans and netizens are then excited with this announcement, though; it's going to be a digital release, which means there will be no physical album that will be going to be available. Nevertheless, ELFs are preparing themselves to express their support to the member who is ready to capture everyone's heart after going out from his comfort zone.
Moreover, fans are teasing the male idol after recently announcing that he will be going to release and upload a new song, that turns out to be his solo debut.
Also, aside from his fans, his co-Super Junior has extended their support through their social media account, and the group will not be Super Junior without teasing and clowning each other. Siwon had posted the image teaser as well in his personal account, and he wrote, "Grace upon Grace!Sing!Harmony!", while Hyukjae shared the photo as well with a caption saying, "Sing, melody." The two idols then use the hashtag #할머니 , which is a pun for "Harmeoni," which means grandmother in Korean.
On the other hand, prior to SJ label confirmation and announcement, Donghae recently participated Super Junior's 9th repackage album "TIMELESS" which was released this February, as well as joined several entertainment shows and programs along with his members.
