As the number of deaths and people diagnosed by the New Novel Coronavirus continues to rise with having 900 verified cases recorded on February 25 at 9 p.m KST, Superstars, citizens, and public providers started to donate funds to help prevent the spread of the disease.
On February 25, it was reported by Shin Min Ah's management that she donated over 100 million Won to the Neighborhood Chest of Korea. The management said, "She donated in the hopes that it will help aid healthcare groups in their mission to prevent COVID-19 and protect those who aren't affected by the virus."
On the same day, Lee Byung Hun's agency confirmed that the actor also helped by donating 100 million won and said that he knows the dangers of preventing the distribution of COVID-19 and decided to make a donation hoping that it would help people gain the power to contain the virus.
The Korea Disaster Relief Association also announced that Yoo Jae Suk and Kim Jong Kook made a donation on February 24 and 25, the fund will be used to stock face masks, sanitizers, and other items that will help stop the virus from spreading.
One of the most famous Singers in South Korea, Lee Seung Hwan shared a post in his Instagram account that he donated 30million won to the Korea Catastrophe Aid Affiliation, and wrote "This is a difficult time to all people. Wh have always been the person who is set to help each other and share everything we have in times like this. Keep strong, everyone and thank you to Korea Facilities for Ailment Manage and Prevention."
The KBS Drama Actor of "Forest" Park Hae Jin who plays the role of an emergency expert employee, posted a video sharing knowledge about COVID 2019. The video was developed and approved by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and Fire Service Office. He donated the full charge as well as the production charges he made.
On 22nd, South Korea's Park Seo-Joon also made a donation of 100 million won and Lee Young-Ae made a 30 million donation to Daegu Social Welfare Fund on the 21st.
Yoon Se-Ah said that "This Is My Father's hometown and this is where I was born," following the donation of 10million won to the Daegu Social Welfare Community.
It was on February 22, Jang Sung Kyu made a donation of 50 million Won posted on his Instagram Account saying "The situation has been raised to the highest alert level. Now I am uncomfortable with reading news and headlines on COVID-19 and made a decision though I know this is a small act but knowing that being able to lend a hand to the full extent of my efforts will reach thousands of people who are in Daegu and trembling in fear."
As South Korea combats the deadly disease, people never forget the importance of unity.
