While South Korea is battling the coronavirus outbreak, many people, including K-pop celebrities who own their businesses and renting establishments, are doing their best to help their tenants by waiving or lowering the cost of their rents. One of these is Fin.K.L's Lee Hyori.

On March 11, news from Xportsnews revealed that a resident from Hannam neighborhood, which the K-pop celebrity Lee Hyori owns, told them that the artist waived their rent for the whole month of March.

"Last month, Lee Hyori announced that she will not be taking any rent from us for the whole month of March," the resident said.

The resident added that the economy is recently having a crisis due to the pandemic.

"Our economy is getting poor now because of the virus outbreak, a very hard time for all of us. I am very thankful that Lee Hyori has waived our rents for the whole month and that she was able to see our struggles," the resident shared.

It was in October when Lee Hyori officially bought the building along with its business including Korean restaurants, seafood restaurants, and various office spaces.

There have been reports that other celebrity landlords have lowered the cost of their rents and some waived it. On March 7, Won Bin and Lee Na Young have reduced the cost of their tenant's rent down to 50%.

Jun Ji Hyun also slashed the rent for her building, which is located in the Gangnam District, down to 10% for March and April. Park Eun Hye showed her good heart to her tenants by not collecting any rent payments for the month of March, hoping that in this small way of action she could help them.

Other celebrities such as Hong Suk Chun, Seo Jang Hoon, Rain, Kim Tae Hee, have made the same decision to help in their own way.
