Japanese K-pop Idols Breaking the Barrier of Racism and Cultural Difference

Japanese people in South Korea were being targeted awhile ago due to stricter exporting controls of the Japanese government concerning the country mentioned above. The following idols are continuing their dreams as artists in the Korean music industry while simultaneously fighting against racism and cultural differences.

1. TWICE's Japanese line

The popular girl group Twice is considered as the Nation's girl group by their many fans, not just in South Korea but internationally as well. It is well-known that the group has three Japanese members, namely: Hirai Momo, Minatozaki Sana and Myoui Mina. They were all scouted by JYP Entertainment and invited to one of the annual JYP Japan auditions. All three girls participated in and survived JYPE's survival show SIXTEEN.

2. NCT's Yuta

SM Entertainment formed NCT and debuted them in July 2016. The group has different subunits however Nakamoto Yuta, their only Japanese member, belongs to NCT 127 only. His roles in the group include main dancer, vocalist and rapper. He auditioned and passed SM Entertainment's Global Audition in Japan.

3. GWSN' Miya

Miyauchi Haruka or Miya is part of Girls In The Park formed by Kiwi Pop. Her role in the group is the main dancer, lead rapper and vocalist.

4. Pentagon's Yuto

Adachi Yuto is part of the 9-membered group called Pentagon under CUBE Entertainment. The group debuted in October 2016 with their song "Gorilla." He's Pentagon's lead rapper and sub vocalist. Before auditioning at CUBE Entertainment, he was a trainee at JYP Entertainment. He became an official member after succeeding in the survival program Pentagon Maker.

5. JBJ95's Takada Kenta

Takada Kenta was a contestant in Produce 101. He ranked at No. 24 before he got eliminated in the 10th episode. He debuted as the other half of JBJ95, which is a Kpop duo group, with Kim Sanggyun on October 2018.

6. IZ*ONE's Japanese trio

Formed through Mnet's survival show Produce 48, IZ*ONE has three official Japanese members. Miyawaki Sakura, Yabuki Nako and Honda Hitomi who are all talented and skilled singers and dancers.

7. HUB's Rui

Watanabe Rui or Rui is the lead rapper, lead dancer, vocalist, visual and leader of HUB which stands for "Hope U Bounce." The group debuted in February 2017 and formed by New Planet Entertainment. Rui was a competitor in YG Entertainment's MIXNINE but got eliminated in Ep. 13 finishing at rank No. 25.

8. ONF's U

Mizuguchi Yuto, or U, is the only Japanese member of "On N Off". He's the main dancer and a sub vocalist of the group. They participated in MIXNINE but debuted under WM Entertainment in August 2017.

9. Treasure 13's talented foursome

Treasure13 is YG's new group that is anticipated to debut in the first half of 2020. The group was formed through survival show Treasure Box and consists of 13 members who are divided into two groups, Treasure and Magnum. They have four Japanese members, namely: Watanabe Haruto, Kanemoto Yoshinori, Takata Mashiho and Hanada Asahi.
