Fans and citizens alike were full of rage and disgust to the main suspect of the notorious "Nth chatroom" case after an alleged chat log collected from Telegram, starting from December of 2018 to January this year, revealed horrible conversation involving Korean female celebrities.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police, over 74 females were used as sex "slaves" of Cho Joo Bin, wherein based on the reports, the youngest ones aged from 9 to 25 years old.
Cho Joo Bin approached these young girls through social media, and together with his accomplices, they offered them money or gift certificates in exchange for their nude photos. These girls agreed somehow because their identity would not be revealed. They did not know, however, that a friend of the main perpetrator, who worked for a government sector, had access to identify the names and personal information of the victims.
The teens would then be blackmailed and threatened, leaving them no choice but to film pornographic video, including men sexually abusing them, and the videos will be sold to users.
In the chat logs, Cho Joo Bin used video teasers of celebrities to bait users to pay a membership fee for them to have access to the full video. The users usually doubted Cho, but he would sent them the address and private information of the celebrities to make the users believe him.
The chat logs also included a question and answer session with the potential users, asking the benefits and what is inside the three chatrooms Cho runs.
When a user asked, "Are any of your slaves a current idol?"
Cho Joo Bin answered, "Yes."
The perpetrator also talked about a teenage Korean singer who he claimed he "trained" himself, not in singing but in doing sexual activities.
Cho had three chatrooms, and the entrance fee rose to 1.5 Million Won ($1,190).
"What's in the 1.5 Million Won room?" A user asked.
"Things you can't imagine. You'll feel like you are dreaming. I'll show you a celebrity if you join," the suspect then answered.
An unknown celebrity who he hid the identity under the name "C" also become the topic of converstion, with Cho saying that she was doing explicit activities while crying.
In addition to this, Cho also talked about possessing hidden cameras of celebrities that came from the paid staff of the personalities. He also claimed that he had pre-debut videos of Korean idols and stars, but only paid members could access any of it.
According to a user of "Nth Room" who once joined the chatroom, the main suspect baited teenagers and young men in their 20s by using footage or teasers involving idols and celebrities. Cho has shared photos of married celebrities in their 30s and 40s as well, who he called his "slaves."
The chat logs are yet to be confirmed and if all the content of the revealed records are legit. A special team will be formed for the case to verify and to identify the 260,000 men who were already referred to as accomplices of Cho Joo Bin for paying and watching sexually abused women.
