Hashtag #ApologizeToJisoo Trends on Twitter + BLACKPINK BRASIL Apologizes

BLACKPINK's Jisoo's recently became the center of the mob's attention as the BLINKS were asking for an apology to the female star.

A Twitter hashtag #ApologizeToJisoo started to trend last weekend after the fandom saw a disrespectful statement coming from another BLACKPINK fanbase on the bird app, called the BLACKPINK BRASIL. They claimed that the girl group's visual is no more than that. Some even said that she doesn't perform well like the other girls and that she would suck if they would be collaborating with the international singer Dua Lipa.

This irked the fans, especially to those who bias Jisoo. They also took this on Instagram, wherein some expressed their disappointment by using the hashtag there as well.

Here are some of their comments.

As a response, the aforementioned fanbase on Twitter released their official statement of apology on March 29.

"We decided to come forward to explain a few things but firstly and more importantly, to apologize" as quoted on the first line of the said statement.

The lengthy letter includes their explanation wherein BLACKPINK members' Jisoo and Jennie's names were dragged.

The letter reiterates their admission to the irresponsible words they have uttered and they believe to assume such negligence. However, they have expressed that they did not address those words thrown to Jennie.

"Even though it may look as a lame excuse, we still go back to the fact that these conversations happened back in 2018. It doesn't exclude us from the wrongdoing, but it definitely has an importance to this. We don't have the same thoughts about this type of behavior as we had before," the message says.

They also added that, back then, they were young compared to who they are at the moment by saying, "We were young, we were immature and really inserted into this "stan twitter" life. Excluding the things said about Jennie, all the other jokes about the girls were made because we liked to tease them."

Aside from that, they also had to clarify the translation done by those who tweeted, since the texts are in the Brazilian language.

"However, we would also like to point out that the translation that is going around lacks context and the right tone. We will address it piece by piece and will explain it, but, we are all aware that it won't justify anything; it's just that when translated to English, some of the things said looks heavier that they were. Please follow the next tweets," the statement went on.

Fandoms may sometimes clash at some point just like this #ApologizeToJisoo incident, and this only means how much they would defend their biases.

Meanwhile, BLINKs are thirsting after BLACKPINK's comeback.
