BLACKPINK's Lisa is a "Strict Mentor?" You Probably Haven't Encountered These Female Mentors Yet

Recently, BLACKPINK's Lisa has been drawing attention as a mentor in the current Chinese idol-produce show "Youth with You." Her appearance as a dance teacher then sparked a debate between netizens because some claimed that Lisa has become strict and harsh to the trainees.

However, to many K-pop enthusiasts and those who are fans of various idol-produce shows on Korean music stations, Lisa is actually kind and affectionate to the trainees, unlike the following list of mentors from the Korean Produce Series that will definitely send shivers on your spine because of their intimidating aura.

Kahi

Dance instructor for Produce 101 Season 1 and 2, Kahi's strict and harsh aura can be observed throughout the seasons. There was a time where she harshly told a trainee for six years if the performance he did was his best.

"You trained for six years, and that's all?" She said with a straight face.

Kahi also often criticized trainees who are in the show, provoking them with her phrases, "Don't you have nothing to show?"

Not only in the show that she's strict when it comes to teaching, but as a former leader and member of the K-pop group After School, and Na Na, her former co-member, confirmed it during their Radio Star appearance that Kahi used to make her repeat a dance move repeatedly, even if she was doing her best.

Bae Yoon Jung

"Harsh" and "Strict," these are the words that are often linked to Bae Yoon Jung as a dance instructor of Produce series. Her way of mentoring her trainees are straightforward and provocative, often asking if they really want what they are doing.

However, this is just her way to train her students, to be strong and do their best, with effort and with heart. She may be strict and harsh outside, but she usually wins the favor of her trainees as well as the viewers once they got to know about her.

Cheetah

Cheetah is the rapper mentor of the show, and surely, just by seeing her appearance, you will eventually feel intimidated and become flustered as soon as she approaches you. Her cat-like eyes will devour you and make you freeze. Nevertheless, she's a good mentor and has been able to produce quality and successful rappers coming from the show. In reality, she's a heartwarming trainer, and can even show some cute aegyo during the show.

Shin Yoo Mi

Her sweet approach is what captures the hearts of the trainees and netizens to pick her as a trainer, but she can change into a harsh person once you make something that can dissatisfy or disappoint her. Her words are not the piercing and hurtful one, but it targets your heart as if the truth is slapping you.

These female mentors may be harsh at times, or most of the time, but at the end of the show, you'll realize how reasonable and helpful their criticism of the trainees are.
