By acknowledging her errors, BLACKPINK's Lisa has shown that she is indeed a professional mentor and fans are amazed.
In Youth With You, Lisa criticizes the dance rehearsal performances of the trainees, and she told one trainee that she tends to lag behind everyone else in terms of skills.
"I can feel that you were trying hard, but I think that is not enough."
Lisa asked her how long she's been practicing, to which the trainee answered: "just two months." Lisa's tone shifts instantly.
"Oh, okay, I can see your potential. You've only been practicing for two months, but you're doing an incredible performance."
With this degree of competence within a two-month training cycle, Lisa believes that this trainee will increase the leaps and boundaries in the following months.
"And I believe you could do more. I believe you will do better."
Responses from People on social media have all been pleasantly surprised by the willingness of Lisa to provide constructive criticism and be a helpful mentor.
"I like how Lisa rectified herself when she heard that Gia only practiced for two months and realized her abilities. She's a fantastic mentor."
"No matter how good they performed, she was able to spot a newbie. I would be inspired to do better if I had a trainer like her."
She's also getting a lot of commendations from fans.
"Lisa is a stern, calm, and kindhearted tutor."
"The way Lisa's eyes shift so quickly from left to right, you can tell she's cautious and vigilant. She is checking for errors, and I think it's amazing how alert she is. She's a perfect mentor."
BLACKPINK's Lisa has revealed a different side of herself as a mentor through season two of the Chinese series Youth With You. The way that she's giving such serious attention to each aspect makes fans fall even more in love with her, prompting footage of it to go viral.
As Lisa watched a group of female trainees practicing their choreographed dance, she promptly signaled that they should stop, realizing that something was off.
It had been attributed to two-hand gestures from the trainees. One had a fist clenched while the other opened, "You do this, but you do this."
After fixing that, Lisa crouched adorably in front of them, observing them start the practice with care. She was able to easily see another point of improvement, holding her hands out in a slow-motion and standing up.
This period, one of the trainees wasn't at all in step. When performing a step, they'd bend their legs. Lisa has shown the right way to do it repeatedly so that they can see the difference.
When they were on the right track to execute the routine, Lisa found one last thing that needed some adjustments. Concentrating her attention on the mirror before them, she's been drawn to the motions of a trainee.
"You keep messing up," Lisa said. While the trainee was puzzled, she was there to assist.
While raising her hands and counting from five to six, Lisa responded by pointing out how the trainee skipped the pace, "It's too slow." She stood up and showed the dance to give them a better understanding, as she counted to reinforce it.
Taking the supportive feedback from Lisa, the trainee has been able to match the others, making the dance step appear as seamless and coordinated as it should. She provided them her approval stamp, nodding in appreciation.
