Taeyeon of Girls' Generation posted a black-and-white picture of her, holding her grandmother's hand on her Instagram on the 19th. She wrote in her caption, "I love you, see you in my dream."
Following this, heartfelt comments poured under her post, such as,"I'll always be by your side," "You look like your grandmother. I should also be good to my grandmother," "I wish both of you will be happier than anyone else," among others.
Taeyeon was supposed to release her new song "Happy" and music video in early March, but it was postponed due to the loss of her father on the day of her birthday. Her agency SM Entertainment posted a message regarding the news on Girls' Generation's official social media account that day.
"We are informing you that we will inevitably postpone the release of Taeyeon's new song 'Happy' and music video, which was scheduled for today," the agency wrote.
As they conclude, they also mentioned, "We ask for your understanding from many fans who expected the new song, and we will announce it again regarding the release schedule of the song in the future."
Taeyeon was also scheduled to communicate with her fans through the V Live channel on her supposed comeback date, but they have decided to postpone all schedules.
The singer has posted on her social media account, "I would like to express my deep gratitude to all the people who congratulated and comforted me on the 9th of March, 2020. There have been a lot of people who reached me out that I could not even measure by numbers, and they hugged me warmly and patted me."
She went on, "I will continue to live my life well and with deep love and warm comfort. To those who came, and sincerely delivered their love and heard from far away, please understand if I can't say hello to every people I'm thankful for."
The song "Happy" is an R&B pop genre song that reinterprets Old School Doo-Wop and R&B in a modern sound. The lyrics are expected to be a special music gift for her fans with warm, cozy excitement and happiness in the time spent with their loved ones.
In particular, Taeyeon proved her "trustworthy" power by setting various records such as topping major music charts with her previous second full-length album "Purpose" and repackaged album. She has also been recognized for breaking the record of the most regional No. 1 in Korean female solo albums on the iTunes top album chart.
The release date of "Happy" is yet to be confirmed.
