The prosecutor has found that there was inadequate scrutiny into the electoral fraud in "Produce 101 Season 2," and may re-enquire the case. The re-investigation order contained the "lack of wrongdoing" (not a conclusion on a matter which may have a significant effect on the conviction).
To examine the vote-counting procedure for Season two, in contrast to the prospect of the prosecution of managing director Ahn Joon young and other participants of the Production Staff Team.
A panel was created recently for the purpose of bringing legal proceedings against both the "Produce101" production team and lobbying the committee for its failure to prosecute those charges.
"The judiciary claimed on April 21 that the investigation into the rating of 'Produce 101 Season 2,' forming the Wanna One party, was not satisfactory and it agreed to re-examine it," the committee's legal advisor said. The prosecution was moved back from 22 to April 27."
In the prosecution's answer to the committee's appeal, the lawyer claimed that the inquiry initially convicted chief producer (CP) Kim Yong Bum for obstructing businesses as he confessed controlling the votes from "Produce 101 Season 2" final season.
However, because there was a lack of evidence to assess whether he engaged in the fraud, PD Ahn Joon Young was considered for non-indictment for obstructing business. They stressed that no decision had been made on the committee's allegations of fraud.
The prosecutor also claimed that accused Ahn Joon Young was charged in "Produce 48" and "Produce X 101" for both obstructing business and bribery with regards to manipulating paying votes. That being said, there would still be a need to decide if the bribery of the vote by Ahn Joon Young in "Produce 101 Season 2" even counted as deception, as did the three and four seasons.
The legal counsel of the committee said, "Looking at the notice from the prosecutors, it was decided that rating bribery existed in season two, but it was not established who perpetrated the fraud. There is a chance in possible re-investigations that PD Ahn Joon Young will obtain another fraud conviction or that another employee of the production team from season two will be charged."
The committee concluded, "While the investigation turned up that the seasons had been exploited, it is disappointing that the investigation was insufficient for season two, gaining billions of won (millions of dollars) in income."
The committee also shared its wishes for potential prosecutors to perform a comprehensive investigation. The fourth hearing will come into play on April 27, for PD Ahn Joon Young and CP Kim Yong Bum.
