On the 29th of April, NCT Dream had their most-awaited return with a comeback album "Reload" and the title track "Ridin'," which showed the manly and cool side of NCT's youngest member line.
However, as NCTzens (and Czennies), celebrate on the same day after the group topped several online music charts as well as attaining huge sales of 500,000 pre-order copies before dropping their official MV, Na Jaemin was caught up in a dating rumor with his former co-star, actress Kim Ji-in.
The two artists recently played the main roles for the Korean web drama, released in April 2019, titled "The Way I Hate You," which is the acting debut of the male idol.
Following the year since they worked together, anonymous accounts on social media, including Twitter and Korean online community Pann, spread a rumor that the two were actually going out with each other, with the so-called "proofs" that indicate their relationship status.
The dating rumor has been surfacing for quite some time. However, it blew up right on the big day of the male idol, which is NCT Dream's comeback date.
The topic "Who is Na Jaemin's girlfriend?" is currently trending on several Korean community sites. The rumor started when the actress "accidentally" posted a screenshot of a Netflix series she's watching. However, netizens noticed that it was the male idol's account as texts were found on the bottom left of the image, saying, "Na Jaemin-nim's currently watching content."
Upon noticing, the actress reportedly deleted the Instagram story immediately. Due to this, online users were quick to speculate that the two artists are sharing the same Netflix account, leading to a possibility that they have a deeper bond than co-starring in the web drama. In addition to this, the other "proofs" showed that Jaemin regularly uses bunny emojis and effects, which resemble the bunny front teeth of the actress.
However, fans of Na Jaemin debunked the dating rumor, claiming that the set of evidence provided was groundless and ridiculous. According to a Czennie, the alleged photo capturing the account was photoshopped.
Nevertheless, legit or a hoax, fans are sharing their two cents regarding this dating rumor.
"They worked with each other so they can be friends. Friends share Netflix account with each other. I also share an account with my friends, are we dating?" A fan commented.
Also, some fans are cool with the male idol dating someone as he is old enough and it is his private life.
On the other hand, some netizens and supporters set aside the rumor, and decided not to waste their energy with the allegedly "trolls." Instead, they are focusing on giving their idols a win on music shows.
NCT Dream's "Ridin'" ranked no. 1 on Melon, the first NCT track to do so and the second boy band this year to achieve such rank. The EP "Reload," on the other hand, debuted on the first spot of iTunes World Albums Chart and the 5th highest first-day sales of all time on Hanteo Chart.
Their new EP has been receiving favorable remarks on various social platforms, and it is expected to have more positive reviews and feedbacks as the promotion goes by.
"Ridin'" is an energetic song featuring the synergy of the voices of the six members, incorporated with their unique and detailed dance choreography, including the riding gesture that fans can easily tag along.
