Late K-pop Stars Jonghyun, Hara, and Sulli’s Instagram Accounts Memorialized

The late K-pop stars Johnhyun of SHINee, Goo Hara, and Sulli may have left this earth, yet fans never fail to remember them.

The passing of Jonghyun, Hara, and Sulli shocked the world, and even though they are no longer with us, fans still visit their Instagram accounts to express their heartfelt feelings and reminisce about the good memories they had with them.

And now, we've come reached the day that followers will no longer see their accounts as they have been removed from the said social media platform. Fans are grateful to see the app showing honor to those who have left the world.

Their accounts are captioned with, "This account has been memorialized. Memorialized accounts are places to remember and celebrate someone's life after they've passed away."

Fans are grateful to Instagram for acknowledging the celebs they will always miss.

"Thank you, @instagram. Sulli's Instagram account is now memorialized," said one fan.

"Sulli and Hara's account's have been memorialized, too," said another.

Trigger Warning: Mentions of suicide.

Jonghyun departed from the world on December 18, 2017, after taking his own life using carbon monoxide poisoning. He left a suicide note that became an eye-opener to how stardom created pressure in his life. The letter was made into the public as part of his request.

"The depression that bothered me slowly has finally engulfed me entirely," he said on his final message.

Goo Hara was found dead on November 24, 2019, inside her abode in Gangnam, with the possibility of suicide as the cause of her passing due to the suicide note seen on the premises. Again, this became the most talked-about topic because prior to her death, she was involved in a controversy involving her ex-boyfriend.

Months after her passing, her brother, Goo Ho-In, revealed shocking truths about their absent mother who is trying to claim half of her inheritance. This pushed Ho-In to submit the petition for the Goo Hara Act. In an official statement, he said, "However, it is not only my own wish but also Hara's that there will no longer be tragedies in which parents receive death benefits after having abandoned their children."

Sulli was a victim of cyberbullying when she was still alive, which people have attributed to as the cause of her depression and suicide. On October 14, 2019, she was found lifeless on the second floor of her residence in Seongdam, Seoul. Her manager decided to visit her as he was not able to contact the artist.

Netizens became aware of the struggles that every K-pop idol has to undergo to be able to achieve success in the K-pop scene. Some are protesting that entertainment agencies should always consider their celebrities' health and welfare as more stars reveal that they are suffering from anxiety and depression due to the pressures of the standards hurled to them by the industry and society.

Jonghyun, Hara, and Sulli's Instagram accounts memorialized will allow netizens to remember and pay respect to the deceased. Recently, Kim Heechul of Super Junior, who was known as a close friend to Hara and Sulli, fought back against a certain reporter after defaming his name in regards to Hara and Sulli's constant malicious commentaries even after their passing. Heechul said that the said media personality should not use the names of the ones who passed away to get attention.
