YG Entertainment Allegedly Mistreats BLACKPINK Rosé + K-netizens React

BLACKPINK's Rosé recently became a hot topic in a Korean community website after netizens claimed that she is treated poorly by her agency, YG Entertainment, compared to her other three co-members.

The discussion sparked after a netizen posted a photo containing the summary of BLACKPINK's individual schedules and activities for the past four years since their debut, leading to concerns towards Rosé.

In the photo, BLACKPINK's main dancer, Lisa, has a total of 49 solo activities starting from 2016 to 2020, while Jennie has 45, including her solo debut track, "SOLO." As for Jisoo, she has 18 solo activities in total, including her cameo in Korean Drama "Arthdal Chronicles," while Rosé has only 16.

Though Jisoo and Rosé have the least activities, BLINKs questioned YG Entertainment about Rosé's position in the group as the main vocalist.

In 2018, YG Entertainment announced that all BLACKPINK members would be debuting as solo artists, and revealed that after Jennie's solo debut, Rosé's album would follow.

However, it has been two years since that, but fans are still waiting for her solo debut. Fans are also talking about how disappointing it is that the idol was given the position as the main singer. Still, she doesn't have any collaboration with other idols, or any official soundtrack/solo songs, even though several K-pop idols and artists were allegedly meaning to work with her, such as IU and AKMU.

Further, Rosé is the only member without any brand endorsement, and in 2020, her only activities were PWF - Saint Laurent and W Korea photoshoot.

The author clarified they are not hating the other BLACKPINK members for getting more activities, but Korean netizens are demanding YG Entertainment to treat Rosé fairly and give her the attention that she deserves.

BLACKPINK members are four equally talented members, that's why Korean netizens are putting the blame to YG Entertainment for not giving, including Jisoo, the amount of attention that they should have as much as Jennie and Lisa.

As the post circulated in various online community sites, fans used the hashtags, #RoséDeservesBetter and #FreeRosé, even tagging YG Entertainment about this presumed mistreatment.

On the other hand, BLACKPINK is set to have their huge comeback this June after a year and two months of hiatus. With a new set of tracks, the band and BLINKs are more than ready to end the "KILL THIS LOVE" era.

According to Naver, the comeback will be released in early to mid-June, and the songs are already finished. As for the MV shooting, it is currently in the works. The details of the major return of the phenomenal girl group haven't been announced yet, but this forthcoming return is already garnering much anticipation from K-pop enthusiasts.

Moreover, BLACKPINK x Lady Gaga's collaboration song release date is already up! On May 29, Lady Gaga's new album, "CHROMATICA," will feature the four ladies in her "Sour Candy" track.
