Due to the female idols' popularity and influence globally, even the British fashion magazine, Vogue, expressed their anticipation, revealing and even analyzing the reasons why BLACKPINK is dominating the mainstream music industry.
On May 14, The official website of the high-end magazine wrote an article about the iconic girl group, hailing BLACKPINK as The Biggest K-pop Girl Band on the Planet. They also discussed the secrets and reasons as to how BLACKPINK became the largest female group of this generation which is not only idolized by the fans, but other idols as well.
According to Vogue, the group which is set to introduce a new album this upcoming June are already on the verge of another global success.
It is true that since their debut, BLACKPINK has been continuously breaking records, especially when it comes to their online presence. Most of their YouTube MVs are surpassing 500 Million Views and even reaching up to 1 Billion views.
At the same time, they are also causing a major influence on everyone leading Vogue to come up wth the reasons on how they became the biggest girl group of this generation.
First, BLACKPINK, which debuted in 2016, is only the second girl group launched from YG Entertainment. The first one was 2NE1 in 2009. After their debut, people dubbed them as the next 2NE1. However, as they geared up for their debut tracks, "Whistle" and "Boombayah," they shooked off the music industry and made a name for themselves.
Vogue then said, "It took them just four years to gradually break the record, break their new record, making them one of the largest K-pop girl group in the world."
With their international popularity escalating, they became the first female K-pop act to perform in Coachella, one of the major music festivals in the US.
Also, they've become the first group to reach 1 Billion views on YouTube and have the highest number of subscribers.
In addition to this, they are amazingly the first girl group to be featured on Forbes Asia's 30 Under 30.
Second, aside from the titles given to them by high-end magazines, they set a Guinness World Record with just a single song, "Kill This Love." During which, they also successfully done a world tour with only six official tracks.
Third, they are not only fixated with influencing the globe with their talent and music, but they also dive into the fashion world. Often seen flaunting their styles in the front row of runway events such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Dior, the BLACKPINK members are always the crowd's favorites.
On top of that, Vogue believes that BLACKPINK is gaining a huge fandom all throughout the globe encompassing both the music and fashion markets.
Nevertheless, the attention of the fans and media are focused on the new kind of "REVOLUTION" that BLACKPINK is set to showcase. Aside from their comeback, the girl group is also set to be featured on Lady Gaga's song SOUR CANDY, which will be released on May 29 together with the Hollywood singer's sixth album, CHROMATICA.
