During the recent broadcast of BTS's new docuseries, "Break The Silence," which is exclusive on the Weverse app, Jin made a heartbreaking confessing about what he sacrificed to become an idol.
On episode 3, Seokjin, prominently known as Jin, revealed the painful consequences or disadvantages of being a popular idol that left ARMYs, the fandom of the BTS, heartbroken.
Jin, who the eldest member, is loved by a lot of fans not just because of his looks and talents but also because of the fun personality that comes within him as a whole person. He can make every situation light and, at the same time, let his co-members feel like they're a real family.
In the latest episode, he revealed his inner feelings that he wasn't able to convey to everyone, and according to him, "There's a lot of pressure when meeting with people, though I haven't changed, my friends find it difficult to be around me."
It's not surprising that Jin is a busy idol, with tight schedules in and out of South Korea, and given BTS's stature in the music industry. Due to this, he eventually grew apart from his old friends, leading him to lose a lot of them in the process of becoming one of the most famous K-pop idols in the world.
However, he indirectly stated that he's not regretting anything that he has done so far, confessing how ARMYs are the ones who helped him become who he is today.
He said, "What and who I am today is because of my fans, the ARMYs, and they are the reason I am able to do more music. Seeing how lots of people love me performing on stage and at the same time, with the thought of making them happy, I can find my happiness with them. That's the reason why I want to perform even more."
Wrapping up his ment, Jin talked about being Seokjin and Jin. He described both personalities living a happy life. However, Jin's life is a bit difficult as he quoted, "If you gain some, you lose some."
Certainly, becoming a K-pop idol has a considerable price to pay, as sacrificing other things is inevitable. However, as huge artists such as BTS, it's often that only smiles and happiness are the things they should show whenever they are performing. Whatever is happening backstage is far from the knowledge of fans.
This is why through "Break the Silence," fans of the K-pop boy group are given a chance to have a snippet of the struggles they are facing as celebrities and eventually realizing that fame isn't only glitz and glamour.
The third episode tugged at the viewers' heartstrings, seeing how the members faced hardships, which are encompassed with being an idol, how their staff treats them with affection, and Jin talking about the pros and cons of being a star.
In turn, fans expressed their perpetual love and support not only to Jin but also to the other members, affirming that they will always be with them.
