SECRET NUMBER's label, Vine Entertainment, released its official statement over school violence and bullying controversy that tagged its artist, Soodam.
SECRET NUMBER just debuted on May 19 and instantly garnered attention after one of its members, Soodam, was said to be involved in school violence and bullying. Right on the day of the girls launching, a netizen shared a post on social media, which pinpoints the K-pop artist's alleged history.
The post said, "Way back before, Soodam had initiated bullying towards others. Ever since middle school, she consumes alcohol and enters classes afterward."
This allegation created a negative impact on the emerging K-pop star and her group.
With this, Vine Entertainment released its official statement to combat the malicious rumor that targets Soodam and to clarify such direful accusations.
Here is the agency's full statement:
"Hello, This is SECRET NUMBER's label, Vine Entertainment, RD Company.
We would like to clear things out with regards to malicious comments that involve our talent, SECRET NUMBER member, Soodam, which was uploaded this afternoon of the 19th (today) on social media. Such rumors are entirely false.
We are asking that this rookie K-pop girl group, who is embarking their initial steps into the music scene, to not accumulate any heartaches from baseless gossips. Further, we are initiating on taking legal actions towards malicious rumors and acts that try to circulate bogus statements.
Again, we sincerely thank everyone who loves and cheering for SECRET NUMBER."
SECRET NUMBER is a five-member girl group under Vine Entertainment that officially debuted on May 19, 2020, with their single, "Who Dis?" The girls were supposed to debut on March 26 this year, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the agency decided to postpone it.
One of the girls is Soodam, or Lee Soo-Dam in real-life, the quintet's lead vocals, lead dancer, and visual. The 5'6" lady is turning 21 this coming November. She was the third member revealed by her label as part of the rookie group.
Netizens took notice of them as the group is composed of young girls from different countries. Soodam is from South Korea, Lea is from Japan, Dita is from Indonesia, while Denise and Jinny are both from the USA.
The girls take pride in the fact that their single, "Who Dis?," is produced by American producers Michel "Lindgren" Schulz and Melanie Fontana, who worked with various sensational music artists like BTS, The Chainsmokers, and Justin Beiber.
