Recently, fans and supporters of BTS, particularly ARMYs freak out on June 5, after an ARMY noticed that Jin's profile in Google searches was taken down. Due to this, the whole fandom base expressed their anger, and some are also worried their that he might be no longer in the group anymore.
The commotion started when a fan posted on Twitter regarding the Google search results. In the screenshot provided by the user, Jin's profile picture is no longer there, and while conveying her anger, immediately inform Google to fix the misleading information that suggests Jin is no longer in the group. Fans are angry and at the same time confused as to how could it happen when there is no official announcement that he left the group (which is not happening.)
In addition to this, when another fan searched the keywords, "how many BTS band members," Google results say "at least 6." Due to this, ARMYs shared their hunch and intuition as to why is it happening, and according to some fans, it could be a hint that Jin is leaving for his military enlistment soon.
Furthermore, other fans suggest as well that it could be some antis who paid Google to mess up with the fandom and the idol group, who is recently the center of criticisms and hate comments from bashers due to the back-to-back controversies they've faced, including Jungkook's involvement in the Itaewon clubbing amidst COVID-19 and Suga's controversial track, "What Do You Think?" which became an issue after using the cult leader-murderer Jim Jones' speech.
Fans and supporters of BTS who found out about this immediately reported it in Google, and on June 6, Google already added Jin's profile. However, it is not still fully fixed yet, as another profile named Kim Seok-Jin is still in the band's profile. Thus, when searching the number of BTS members, Google search will suggest, "at least 8."
Shortly after, Danny Sullivan who is a journalist, analyst and co-founder of Search engine land explained that the two Jin suggested in Google is because of a panel for being an actor created for the male idol. Due to this, it automatically replaced his panel for being a musician.
However, Jin hasn't debuted as an actor yet, adding to the confusion of netizens and fans. Some are jumping to a conclusion then that the male idol could be preparing for something related to his acting career, as like any other projects, Google has an advanced technology and information suggesting idols and actors project prior to the official announcement.
On the other hand, other ARMYs are still pleading Google to fix BTS bio, to avoid spreading of wrong information relating to the global group.
