On June 18, Thursday, TWICE unveiled the music video for their Japanese release "Fanfare." Upon watching, netizens couldn't help but fawn over how adorable the choreography is!
The music video's initial release was meant to coincide with the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, but the Olympics was sadly canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the music video, the members are seen dancing their hearts out in sky blue outfits that are reminiscent of marching band outfits, which pair perfectly with the cheerful theme of the song. When netizens first watched the music video, what first caught their eyes was the opening choreography, featuring Nayeon at the center. The member is seen moving their hands as if they were trumpets, then transition to an almost cheerleader-like move. People are praising the part for being absolutely adorable yet also impactful.
The move can be seen once more in the bridge, with Jihyo in the center. They look like they are ready to cheer you up through hard times.
As the music video hits the end, the girls can be seen pumping their hands to the air, with Jihyo taking the center. They then hit their final poses, with their hands sticking together and making two peace signs. The move is absolutely refreshing, according to Korean netizens!
Korean netizens say that since the song is a Japanese release, they have a cuter and simpler choreography to attract their Japanese audience. Nevertheless, they absolutely fell for it!
K-netz are hoping they bring this type of concept to their Korean releases, saying they'd like to see TWICE rock a cuter and refreshing concept. One netizen said, "Let's go for a fresh concept next time in Korea too!"
K-netz also praised some of the members for their talents. Many complimented Nayeon, who took the center position at the start of the music video, with many in awe over her dance skills. One internet user wrote, "Nayeon is such a good dancer. She is so fresh, all of my attention goes to her."
Others complimented Momo, who notably had more parts in this song compared to their recent Korean releases. "Wah, Momo has so many parts! The song is really good!" Said one netizen.
This is a far cry from when netizens criticized Momo for her poor vocals - now, she's sweeping everyone off their feet with her voice!
Of course, it wouldn't be a TWICE music video without people complimenting Tzuyu's visuals! Like Momo, Tzuyu also got a lot of singing parts in the music, as well as more screen time. People praised the idol for her improvement and her gorgeous visuals.
"Tzuyu is crazy good," a netizen pointed out.
With the robust instrumental reminiscent of marching bands and their adorable choreographies, this is for sure: TWICE's "Fanfare" is a crowd-favorite among netizens, and it's only going to get more popular from here!
