Who is this popular South Korean actor that starred in various Korean series? He is none other than Ahn Hyo Seop!
This handsome rising star captivated us when he starred in "Romantic Doctor 2" as Dr. Seo Woo Jin.
And you read it right! Ahn Hyo Seop used to be a trainee under JYP Entertainment. Aside from that, he almost debuted as one of the members of the hugely popular boy band, GOT7!
In one of the episodes of KBS's "Happy Together," he confirmed how he was able to join one of the leading entertainment agencies in South Korea.
When the hosts asked him how he landed a spot as a JYP trainee, he said, "I was only a regular student in Canada, then I got a phone call from an unknown number. I still have no idea how they were able to know me, but it was their rookie development team who said they wanted to meet me."
Yoo Jae Suk also asked him to confirm if it was true that he was about to debut with GOT7. Ahn Hyo Seop then explained, "I was with the others inside the dorm at that time, so, when the group is being organized, I was also practicing with them. However, I was not one of those who were able to be included in the project team."
Digging further, the hosts asked him why he was not able to pursue the chance of debuting and almost debuted with GOT7. He replied, "I was a little lacking in terms of talents then, and I was too tall as well."
Ahn Hyo Seop also revealed he's close with Jackson Wang, the main rapper of GOT7 and also an esteemed soloist.
Ahn Hyo Seop gained massive popularity after starring in the well-acclaimed medical drama, "Romantic Doctor 2." Aside from his good looks, he has proven his excellent acting skills after receiving awards as Best New Actor for his performance in the series at the recently-held 56th Baeksang Awards, and Best New Actor for his performance in "Still 17" in the 2018 SBS Drama Awards.
Ahn Hyo Seop still debuted as one of the members of the K-pop boy band, One o One.
Meanwhile, in April this year, GOT7 dropped their much-anticipated comeback album, "DYE," with its enchanting title track and its MV, "NOT BY THE MOON." The album dominated in 40 countries in iTunes charts. Members JB, Jinyoung, Youngjae, and Yugyeom participated in polishing the tracks.
