JYP Entertainment is currently under fire after one of its artists aired his frustration and how he honestly felt regarding the treatment he gets from the agency giant.
DAY6's Jae courageously speaks out about JYP Entertainment's mistreatment and it instantly set the internet ablaze.
On June 30, the vocalist of the band expressed his disappointments from his label through his consecutive tweets, which shook netizens for his fearlessness from the management and his status in the company, so much that #JUSTICEFORJAE immediately rose to no. 1 trending topic on Twitter worldwide.
The singer also quote-retweeted a tweet of DAY6's official account and said, "Why don't you repost my dive stuff?"
In a separate tweet, Jae wrote, "Recently, I made the podcasts, Hwaiting on Facebook, and a collaboration with 88rising, but why are my activities never posted?"
He went on, "Even for the YouTube channel, I was scolded for it, and I begged to get permission, but eventually, they said I "downgraded the company's image." And had to quit jaesix, but why are the schedules for other members made properly and money invested in for their contents?"
It's often to see fans expressing these disappointments to the artists receiving mistreatments from their managing labels, but Jae speaking out against his company is a rare occurrence in the K-pop world. It's a huge shock not just to MyDays (DAY6's fandom name) but the whole internet community that the idol himself went out his way to speak tell-all.
As expected, fans and netizens got disappointed over JYP Entertainment - again. This also generated various comments and reactions online.
"JYP Entertainment promotes their girl groups better than their boy groups," said one tweet.
"Jae deserves more. He must have been so fed up by the mistreatment of JYP, and he needs some support from fans now," said another netizen.
"Jae's obviously hurt and fed up with jyp/jype not treating him with equal respect like all the others. they had him take his yt channel down because they didn't like it? what kind of "reason" is that? jae needs to be heard. We are here for him. JUSTICE FOR JAE!" a fan wrote.
After a few hours, and while JYP Entertainment didn't publicly respond on this matter to air their side of their story, Jae revealed in a new tweet how his rift with the agency was settled.
He wrote, "I just had a conversation with my company and I think there were a lot of misunderstandings. I'd like to apologize for making you worried about my post, and what I wanted to express were my own personal problems with the company and had no relation with the members whatsoever, and I didn't think of that."
He added, "I'd like to apologize to the MyDays for creating trouble with my short-minded mistake."
Jae is, or Jae Park, debuted as one of the members of the idol band DAY6 in 2015. He is the vocalist and electric guitarist of the group. He was born and raised in Argentina but later on transferred to California, where he passed the audition for "K-Pop Star," which prompted him to move to South Korea to pursue his career.
